Tony Dastra’s 2025 Voting Recommendations
If you’re voting this November 4th, and you better be, here’s how I’m voting, and how I suggest you vote too. Scroll to the bottom for a quick list at the ballot box.
Here’s the big one for the State, Judges—
For all judges, I’m voting Yes to retain, and I am voting for all Democrats in the other judicial races. I don’t need any extra shifting drama in a State that can’t pass a budget, let alone the fact our federal government can’t. The future of change in PA comes from its municipalities, and that might mean going to court. I want fair PA elections and I want a state legislature that can make more sense. Not even attacking anyone specifically, I conceptually do not understand the PA Senate. Like, if you told me it was an assemblage of Counties’ Senators, I might get it more. It’s just like a smaller house right now. It’s unicameral legislature time, cut the Senate off. One body, one place to pass a budget, no more budget nonsense unless the Governor can’t work with the House. Anyway…
For the foreseeable future, that means we need to fight, locally… Municipally. Like you, the People, seriously need to ask the government to fight for us, for others. America’s recovery begins in its Cities, we need resilient, but open-minded Mayors. We will move forward progress through referendum, if we have to. Vote Tony Dastra, for Mayor AND City Council, duh.
So, as I alluded, I will need a City Council that I think will make more constructive use of Council’s powers, and so I am writing-in candidates. These are people I believe will take action. For City Council, vote for Amos Stoltzfus and I; Write-in TAYLOR RAYMOND and VINCENT DEREK SMITH.
I don’t have any concern at this time with Randall Grossman being the controller. It would have been a good giggle to just run for that too, but I saw no immediate value for my ability to contribute to our City. I’m in these races very seriously. I’m Tony Dastra, if you want absurd, I can give it to you. You think that wasn’t a consideration?
That’s all I really have an opinion on for the ballot.
Lancastrians, we need to be focused on having a knowledgeable People, and a powerful local government that will exercise its powers to get the job done. A government’s Power, comes from its People.
I know we can do this.
